Where the problem comes in with most small sleeper couches is comfort. Because the sofa is small, the mattress or bedding option is usually quite low in quality and uncomfortable. What people do not realize is that not all small sofa sleepers are created equal. There are small couch sleepers on the market today that are incredibly comfortable. Some may even argue that they are more comfortable than the full size option, as comfort is not determined solely by size.
Choose Wisely When You Have Limited Space. If you have a very small space then Twin size sofa beds might be the perfect answer for you as these are less than five feet wide and they are great for sleeping one person. The mattress for a twin size sleeper sofa is about 39 inches wide.
If you're looking for comfortable and functional furniture that can be used for both sitting and sleeping regularly then a futon may be the perfect solution for you and your home. Futons are generally less expensive than both day beds and sleeper sofas, are lighter and less cumbersome to use and set–up than sleeper sofas (particularly if used regularly for sitting and sleeping) as futons use the same frame and mattress for sitting and sleeping, and provide a more contemporary look and style over day beds when placed in a living room, den, or office.
