Okay, so it's technically not a couch, and it only seats one person at a time. But a reclining armchair is the most space‐conscious option when you want the plush comfort of a sofa. Two armchairs provide a more open seating arrangement than a traditional sofa, so they're an excellent choice for apartments. Adding to their flexibility, recliners usually have footrests that fold out clearly when you want them, saving you the trouble of making room for an ottoman
If a traditional sofa is too large for your living space, a loveseat is another good option. Standard loveseats only measure 52 inches from arm to arm, allowing them to seat two people without taking up much room. The compact furniture design also leaves you extra space for a coffee table or extra chairs if you need them.
