Hey, homeowners! In today's article, I want to share with you three sofas you should never buy. I did my sofa style, and I realized that because of the couch that I have. I can so easily switch out different decor, different colors to get very different looks relatively easy just by switching out my accessory. My soap is not the only kind of style that you can have, and I know it's not for everybody.
But I want to share with you three sofas you should never buy because it's almost impossible to make them like them.
1. The Marshmallow Sofa
So the first type of sofa is what I call the marshmallow sofa. And I know you see the sofa before it's big. It has strong puffy rounded arms and huge puffy rounded back. You know I'm honestly not even sure what style this is, and I think that's part of the problem. It just does not work universally as a piece that can transition in and out of different styles.
Think why people are drawn to buying a sofa like this is because they look at this sofa and they see two things durable and comfortable. Now those are two essential qualities, but you can still get those fallings by choosing a different type of sofa that is going to. Work with you better over the long run, and one of my favorite sofa Styles that will do just that is the Chesterfield sofa.
This sofa is a classic design. That is never going to go out of style, and you can depend on the way that you style it with accessories. It can work in a traditional setting. It can work in a modern stick setting. It can work in a unique environment, and that's the kind of piece that you want to invest. If you're going to invest in a sofa that is going to be something that you won't have to switch out for several years and it's going to work this is probably your most important investment in a living room setting.
2. Ginormous Sectional Sofa
The second type of sofa that you should avoid is what I call the ginormous sectional. U-shaped sectionals are tricky because what happens if you have to end up putting a little round coffee table in the center and it's like.
So tiny or you end up using an automatic, you know that's not that efficient because of a lot of people. Let's be honest they're eating their meals in front of the TV. Let's a little bit better and more.
Universal I would recommend is to do a sectional that has one l1 chaise lounge on one side, and you pick something that's just a little bit cleaner lines. The reason people gravitate towards the ginormous sectional is that when they see it, they think great. I want to seat a lot of people, and I want everyone to be comfortable, so this is the sofa that's going to do it.
The reality is that at the most, you really can only seat about three people on a sofa and to have a comfortable regardless of the size. Because people do not want to sit next to each other and try to have a conversation, really what's more natural and more organic is to be seated across from someone on an angle. And you can do that when you have a sofa seating, and then you have accent chair seating.
If you do that you will be able to switch up your room and rearrange a lot more easily at least two or three different Arrangements. You can come up with with one sectional and an accent chair as opposed to one a huge overwhelming section.
3. Matching Sofa Sets
The third type of seating that you should avoid is the combination sofa and matching love seat. If you go into any same store that sells sofas, you're going to see that all the.
I do not recommend it, usually when you do a sofa and the matching love seat. It's too matchy-matchy and what often makes a more visually compelling space is to have differences contrast in the materials, the colors, and the textures.
Typically When you're going to lay out your living room and laying out your room is such an important part you want to put your sofa on the main wall that has probably the best visual. Access to the place where you can see everything if we're not walking in behind you and it's got to face the television as well.
So if you throw in another smaller sofa all of a sudden you've got two big pieces of furniture that are going to be competing for limited wall space. So it's so much easier. Just get a regular three seater sofa and matching pair of armchairs. That way you increase your ability to layout your space different ways you have more versatility to be able to move it around in the room or change up the pillows and change the orientation that you will with this matching set that you never want to separate or get rid of.
I was so grateful and if you are considering buying a new sofa and in your future or you have a living room right now that isn't working. Thanks for reading!!
