We live in a world that is surrounded by all types of animals, creatures from all shapes and sizes, many of these creatures live in places that we as humans are not able to to reach, some creature have never even been discovered by man. We all love the excitement of been around the types of animals that are totally different to mankind and also creatures that are weird and huge in size and shape. We all see animals like elephants, giraffes, horses and many others on TV and in pictures, but been around any of these animals in person is really an exiting and unique experience.
Make ladybugs with different numbers of dots on the back and hand them out. Have the children tell you how many spots the ladybugs have. Once the kids know the numbers, have them add the spots together on more than one ladybug. Subtraction is an option as well.
Baby Polar Bears look so cute with their fluffy fear and huge paws. They look so cute when they yawn or when they wriggle their bodies. Though they look so huggable, don't ever think of hugging think, because after all, it's still one of the world's most dangerous predators.
One need not be a painter or blessed with a artistic bone to teach the child to color. Invest your time and be with the child. Toddlers have keen interest in colors. Water colors are best for holiday recreation. Get to a family 'painting Sunday' in the garden and have your breakfast along with coloring. Each person needs to color a picture. Ready pictures are available in animal prints, vehicles, body parts and cute daily life activities.
Print out a template of a lamb, cut the lamb shape out and glue it to construction paper. Put some dabs of glue on the shape and glue cotton balls to form a soft cuddly lamb. Black ovals and circles can be cut out and glued on for the ears and eyes.
When we buy a rattle for a child, they are intrigued by the color and sound of it. Flying objects like a silly cloth hanging on the clothesline attracts their attention and they are often found squealing at the curtain or moving colourful items. Once the motor skills are achieved, probably by the age of two, it is the best time to introduce them to the colourful world.
