You can take the illusion you have set up a step further with a few ways to trick the eye. First of all, do not be tempted to give your small living room a dark paint job even if you think loveseats look best in pale upholstery. Keep to pale shades that will help make the room feel bigger. If you want to keep a pale color for your loveseats, there are a number of wall paint colors that can complement it without making the room feel smaller.
Limitless Style. In a sense, love seats are a cross between a chair and a sofa, and as such, they can encompass all the styles offered by either. While a sofa might look too prim and stuffy decked out in the extravagance of a traditional, upholstered and tufted chair, a loveseat looks charming. As seating for one, a loveseat provides all the comfort and options of an oversized chair, with a lot more style. They are available in an endless variety of color, pattern, texture, fabric and material, as well as in any decorating style.
If you have pets or children, choose something with easily removable cushions that can be cleaned on a regular basis. White furniture is a dicey move in any home (except maybe a model one), but for a house with kids and pets, it is decorating suicide. Try going with a darker color if you can expect spills and stains; otherwise, go with something neutral. You can add splashes of color with throws and pillows, which are an easy way to change the color scheme of the room if you go with neutral base hues.
