Those who have not purchased leather furniture before might be concerned about its upkeep, but it really is one of the easiest materials to care for. You simply have to wipe it down with a clean damp cloth once a week as part of your usual weekly routine, and the settee will look fresh and clean. It is advisable to treat the leather twice a year to keep it supple but this is easily done and many places now sell pre-soaked cloths specifically for this job. All you have to do is use it to wipe down the entire piece of furniture, including the back, and leave it to dry. It is not a big job and should only take a few minutes every six months.
Recommended foam thickness for seat and back cushion should be between 15 and 18cms. If the base foam is too thin the user may feel the frame components through the foam. If using solid foam as a back support the back foam should be around 30% softer than the base foam. The weight distribution of the body on the sofa is such that less weight is applied to the back cushion. If the back cushion is the same density as the seat cushion it will feel far too firm to the user.
Leather settees can bring a real sense of luxury to a room. If you feel like your living room is missing something, or like the entrance hall of your restaurant lacks a certain pizzazz, or even if you just want your clients to be able to sit more comfortably when they wait on you, a leather settee will do it for you.
