Once you've found a sectional you love, measure it to make sure it will fit in your home's available space. Whether you're ordering a sectional online or browsing in a store, it's essential to find out measurements for the overall length and overall width of the sectional.
Not just does your 'new sectional' need to fit through the doorways and hallways of your home, but it should also fit comfortably in your assigned space. This means the sofa should not overwhelm the room, and there needs to be enough space to move around and introduce your another furniture. Estimate your doorways to assure 'your sectional' will provide when you are ready to move it, and then measure the room where you want to put it.
When you own your sectional estimations, apply masking tape or painter's tape to mark the exact area where 'your sectional' will sit. Doing this gives you an excellent visual for how much space your sectional will take up, allowing you to account for other furniture and to consider alternative room arrangements.
